From Industriens Barselsfond to DA Barsel: update Payroll before the October pay run
3 min read

On 1 October 2025, Industriens Barselsfond closed, and companies that used to pay into it are now covered by DA Barsel. If you use Zenegy Payroll, this means you need to take one important action: go in and choose DA Barsel as the parental leave fund for the employees affected.
Update the parental leave fund in Zenegy Payroll before the first pay run in Q4
If you're affected by the change, you need to update the parental leave fund for the employees affected in Zenegy Payroll and set it to DA Barsel before you run the first pay run in Q4. DA Barsel is reported per employee (CPR number), so the right setup is essential for us to fetch the right information from the October pay run onwards.
If the fund hasn't been updated when you run the first pay run in Q4, the reporting for Q4 has to be done manually. And that's exactly the extra work we'd like to save you.
How to set the fund correctly in Zenegy Payroll
You can update the parental leave fund in two places in Payroll: either on each employee profile, or for everyone at once through Global values, so all the relevant employees are updated in one go. Both ways are described step by step in our help article, so you can carry on with confidence.
Once the setup is in place, the rest runs by itself
Once you've updated the fund, Payroll keeps working for you in the background: we fetch the data automatically from the payroll, and if you have an active Transfer Service agreement, we make the payment to DA Barsel automatically, on time and correctly.
The first payment under the new scheme is on 20 January 2026 (for Q4 2025). After that come the fixed quarterly deadlines of 14 April, 14 July and 14 October.
In short: you set the fund once in Payroll — the system takes care of the rest.
Cases from before 1 October? Claim reimbursement in the right place
If you still need to claim reimbursements for the period before 1 October 2025, you claim them from Industriens Barselsfond. This is a process that runs on its own, separately from your payroll system, and with a fixed deadline: 15 December 2025 for leave that ended in the period 16 June to 30 September 2025.
